NARS Orgasm Blush vs. Rimmel Santa Rose Powder Blush

I’d been searching for a nice blush for a while when I finally decided to listen to all the noise about NARS’s Orgasm blush. I was worried that it would be too sparkly for work, but the peachy-pink sheen is perfect anytime.

The color is spot on: not exactly an “orgasm”, but more of a flirtation with a handsome stranger. The powder is very finely milled and is picked up easily by a brush. As for presentation, the case is made out of black, almost-rubbery packaging (I guess that NARS wants to make sure it doesn’t slip out of grasp!), but the mirror inside is a little small for my taste. Overall, I wouldn’t mind spending $25 USD on Orgasm, but for those of you looking for a less expensive alternative ($2 USD!!!), Rimmel’s Powder Blush in Santa Rose is a slightly less sparkly (and almost color identical) version.

This is the blush that I bought first just as a test, but ended up really liking the color. It’s almost identical to the Orgasm, but I felt that it was a little less sparkly. I also had a harder time working/blending the blush in once it was on my skin (but maybe it was something I was doing wrong). One thing I did really like is Rimmel’s packaging. The whole package is pure blush with a clear lid, which is great if you don’t have a lot of space for your makeup or if you want to slip it in your purse. Here are the two side by side, you can really see that there isn’t much of a difference!
